Annie W.

Last year my husband Marvin passed away and now I am alone. I don’t have any relatives or close friends nearby any more.

On Tuesday December 21, I was cooking down apples to store them, and I wasn’t watching the stove. I was at the kitchen table sorting coupons when the alarms went off. It was almost directly over my head and I nearly jumped out of my skin, there was some smoke but no flames. I was not more than ten feet from the stove and did not know the fire was there. I did not hear, see or smell anything until that alarm went off. If I would not have known about that fire for very much longer, I may not have gotten out of the house (I don’t move so fast anymore).

Thank you Crossfire for saving my life and my home.
